Abstract

Latar Belakang: Merokok merupakan perilaku yang umum di Indonesia dan sering menyebabkan kecanduan, berkembang melalui tahapan perencanaan, memulai, mempertahankan, hingga berhenti. Meski telah diketahui bahayanya, konsumsi rokok terus meningkat. Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi latar belakang perilaku merokok pada mahasiswa keperawatan. Metode: Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan penedekatan fenomenologi. Populasi penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa S1 Keperawatan universitas Muhammadiyah Semarang, partisipan yang dilibatkan sebanyak 10 orang. Pengambilan sampel mengunakan teknik purposive. Analisa data menggunakan metode colaizzi. Hasil: Setelah dilakukan analisa data didapatkan faktor yang menjadi latar belakang mahasiswa keperawatan merokok diantaranya pengalaman merokok (pertama kali merokok, frekuensi merokok, dampak merokok); dorongan untuk merokok (ketagihan nikotin, terpengaruh lingkungan). Kesimpulan: Latar belakang mahasiswa keperawatan merokok dibagi menjadi 2 penyebab diantaranya faktor internal dan faktor eksternal.
